I AM GOING TO BE HERE ONLY FOR A SHORT WHILE.....
I dislike those ward staff that...
Look down on student nurses
Have no confidence in us because we are just student
Scold students in front of the patient and relative and so on so forth.
Something happened today.
Was on morning,so ya as usual 7am to 3pm.
I only slept at 3am last night and had to woke up at 530am to head down to work.
I hate it when i got not enough sleep and people getting in my way trying to make me more irritated and emotionally down....
Ok lets get back to the point....
This EN, who is younger than me by i think 2 years...
Thinks she know it all....
Ok, here is the scenario....
2 patients of mine 8/1 and 8/3 came in for some minor day surgery and is for home if well after surgery.
They are both on LA during op.
My Rm 8/1 patient came back at about 10am and was on hourly parameters....
for like 4 times and everything was normal.
so before i left work me and this NYP student Farlin saw the doctor have already given the DISCHARGE SUMMARY to both of my patient who were for discharge CONFIRM BY THE DOCTOR!!!!
So we decided to off THE HOURLY... and i was the one who off it and i did it in front of the WARD SISTER.
Then this irritating and think she is the smartest EN shouted at me saying:
"Who ask you to off the hourly??? I will off it myself!!!!"
So i answered her:
" Patient is for home, there is the discharge summary here!"
I was pissed off when she said that to me since she want to do it herself i strike it off and left my signature there indicating that i was the one who off it, since she dont appreciate my help.
So i walked off showing a black face.
Then few minutes later she came to the cubicle that i was in and said this to me:
" STUDENT!!! How long must you do put patient on hourly after op?"
I said:
"SIX LA!!! But patient is already for home and discharge summary is already up!"
She was a bit speechless, but she added on by protecting herself saying:
" Next time you dont touch my stuff i can do it myself!!!"
In my mind, i was really fuming mad but i dont wanna make matter worst so i just kept quiet and i am deciding to complain to my LECTURER AND CI when i see them the next time in the ward.
This wasnt the end, because she dint want to put it to rest.
She went to another cubicle threw and slammed the clinical chart on the table and make hell lot of noise shouting and complaining in front of the patient and relative.
I find it so ridiculas. She is like spoiling her own image in front of so many people.
Even patient complain to me saying that the staff who scream just now, and throwing tantrum isnt professional enough.
I was like laughing when i heard that.
And please like off-ing a IV DRIP AND PLUG we dont need supervision anymore its our 2.1 skill and we are all competence already.
This stupid EN scolded one of the NYP student saying that if off plug and drip need someone to supervise....
I WAS LIKE WHAT THE HELL!!!
Since day 1 in this ward i was suppose to work with her for certain days,
But somehow i haven work with her yet, dont know why maybe God think that we will end up fighting so he sparated us.
BUT if she is going to work with me i am not going to show her face!!! I WILL DO IT.
I am going to complain to CI and lecturer and really make her losE FACE.
